Supporting Teaching and Learning
Qualifications at Levels 2 and 3 designed for people wanting to or who are already working in a position that supports learning in schools, colleges or in the community.
Supporting learning either in schools, colleges, universities or in the community is not just about working in the classroom. The traditional role of a Teaching Assistant has become increasingly varied and now there are many different positions and jobs available in an education setting.
Perhaps you would like to work alongside a teacher in a primary or secondary school. You might wish to support a child or young person who has learning difficulties who attends a mainstream setting. You might have considered working in a school in an administrative, technical or other support role rather than directly supporting children in the classroom.
If any of these areas appeal to you then these are the qualifications you need to consider taking. They are designed to provide all support workers in education environments with the skills and knowledge that everyone who works in the sector is expected to have.
So what job roles does that include?
- Teaching Assistants
- Learning Support Assistants
- Special Educational Needs Assistants
- Cover Supervisors
- Midday Supervisors
- Technical Support Staff
- Administration Workers in Schools
The Level 3 qualifications are required if you are planning on working in a more senior support role, or will be working without supervision.
