Playwork
Level 2
CACHE Level 2 qualifications in Playwork enable the candidate to develop confidence and competence working with children and young people aged 4-16. They provide understanding of play and playwork.
The knowledge and skills that you learn are applicable to the role of Assistant Playworker in the following settings, where you will be working under supervision:
- Adventure or leisure centres
- Soft play centres
- Holiday playschemes
- Daycare nurseries
- Woodland play
- Breakfast, after-school clubs or school playgrounds
CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Playwork (CP-L2)
CACHE NVQ Level 2 in Playwork (NVQP-L2)
Level 3
CACHE Level 3 Playwork qualifications establish a link between playwork theory, reflective observations and practice. They provide knowledge of child development from a playwork perspective. Successful candidates are expected to work in a variety of play environments in a supervisory role. The knowledge and skills that you learn as a Playworker are applicable to the following settings:
- Adventure or leisure centres

- Holiday playschemes
- Daycare nurseries
- Woodland play
- Breakfast, after-school clubs or school playgrounds
CACHE Level 3 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Playwork (AP/CP/DP-L3)
