Who is the qualification aimed at?
Current leaders and/or assistants in Cylchoedd Meithrin playgroups or those with some experience in early years.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners must be at least 16 years of age and have some day-to-day contact with children in a group setting.
What does the qualification cover?
How to plan, manage and deliver a varied programme of activities that enhance the learning potential of the children within a Welsh or bi-lingual setting. It is taught and assessed in the Welsh language or bilingually.
What age range is covered?
Birth to 5 years.
How is it assessed?
One externally marked assignment and three internally marked assignments.
Are practical placements required?
It is expected that learners will be in employment or volunteering in a related setting.
Which job roles are learners qualified to undertake on completion of this qualification?
210 guided learning hours plus a further 210 recommended hours working in a playwork setting.
