Who is the qualification aimed at?

It is designed for members of the workforce who work face-to-face with children from birth to five years old in regulated settings in England.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners must be at least 18 years of age.

It updates existing experience so that learners are competent to deliver the government's Early Years Foundation Stage.

How is it assessed?

Assessment is work-based and includes observations, walk and talk and a reflective task.

Are practical placements required?

Learners will already be working as employees, volunteers or students or undertaking work placements under the guidance of qualified practitioners.

How long does the qualification take to complete?

120 guided learning hours.
