People who want to work as an assistant in a pre-school setting, nursery or crèche within a Welsh context.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements but learners must be at least 16 years of age.

What does the qualification cover?

How to work competently and support planning and delivery of a curriculum which will enhance Cwricwlwm Cymreig.
It is taught and assessed in the Welsh language or bilingually.

What age range is covered?

Birth to 4 years 11 months.

How is it assessed?

A multiple choice question paper and three internally marked assignments.

Are practical placements required?

It is expected that learners will be in employment or volunteering in a related setting.

How long does the qualification take to complete?

180 guided learning hours plus a further 180 recommended hours working in a related setting.
