Who is the qualification aimed at?


People who wish to work in a supervised role in settings or services whose main purpose is children's care, learning and development or people undertaking an early years apprenticeship programme.


What are the entry requirements?


There are no formal entry requirements but learners must be at least 14 years of age.



What does the qualification cover?


As a technical certificate, it covers the underpinning knowledge, values and principles for the National Occupational Standards in Children's Care Learning and Development at Level 2.


What age range is covered?


Birth to 16 years of age.


How is it assessed?


One multiple choice question paper and three assignments.


Are practical placements required?


No.


How long does the qualification take to complete?


210 guided learning hours.
