Who is the qualification aimed at?
People whose working role calls for knowledge and understanding and skills in planning and supporting teaching and learning in schools or those wanting to work in this area.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners must be at least 16 years of age.

What does the qualification cover?
Practical, work-related tasks to demonstrate competence at Level 3 based on the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. What age range is covered?
Children of any age in reception, primary, secondary or special school.
How is it Assessed?
Direct observation within the workplace combined with a portfolio of additional evidence such as professional discussions and witness testimonies.
Are practical placements required?
Learners must already either be employed or in a practical placement for the whole period of the qualification.
How long does the qualification take to complete?
There are no set number of hours as it depends on the learner's ability to gather and log the required evidence.
