Who is the qualification aimed at?


Child care and education workers who have a relevant Level 3 qualification and who wish to develop and extend their specialist knowledge in early years and playwork.


What are the entry requirements?


Learners must be at least 16 years of age. CACHE also recommends that learners have an existing early years or childcare qualification or two years practical experience.



What does the qualification cover?


How to be a reflective practitioner and how to develop specialist knowledge in the learners' chosen subject areas for example, children with special needs, advanced practice in working with babies and safeguarding children.


What age range is covered?


Birth to 16 years depending on the units taken.


How is it Assessed?


By three written assignments.


Are practical placements required?


No.


How long does the qualification take to complete?


180 guided learning hours.

CACHE NVQ Level 4 in Children's Care, Learning and Development

CACHE Level 4 Certificate in Managing Quality Standards in Children's Services.
