Who is the qualification aimed at?

Early Years Practitioners who work, or wish to work, in a Playwork setting.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners must be at least 16 years of age and hold a Level 3 qualification in children's care learning and development.

What does the qualification cover?

The knowledge and understanding of children's and young people's play that supports competent practice, based on the assumptions and values of playwork set out in the National Occupational Standards for Playwork at Level 3.

What age range is covered?

4 to 16 years.

How is it assessed?

One externally marked assignment and one internally marked assignment.

Are practical placements required?

No.

How long does the qualification take to complete?

60 guided learning hours.
