What do the qualifications cover?
These qualifications cover the skills and knowledge needed to make a more valuable and effective contribution to the school when working under supervision in a school.
Who are they suitable for?
Anyone working in a support role with children or young people. For example: a school administrator, receptionist, library assistant, learning support assistant, caretaker or lunch-time assistant.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to be at least 16 years old. CACHE does not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.
How are they assessed?
Direct observation within the workplace combined with a portfolio of additional evidence such as professional discussions, email or other records and witness testimonies.
Do you need to be working to take the qualification?
Yes.
How long do they take to complete?
There is no set number of hours as it depends on your ability to gather and log the required evidence.
What related qualifiations can you progress to?
The Level 2 or 3 QCF Supporting Teaching and Learning qualifications.
Which type of job roles can you apply for on completion?
This qualification is intended to support you in your current job role. The wide range of units offered will allow you to move into other support roles within a school.
