Who is the qualification aimed at?

All those who wish to work as a supervisor in pre-schools, playgrounds or nurseries.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners must be at least 16 years of age and it is recommended that they hold an Early Years Level 2 qualification.

What does the qualification cover?

It covers the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to supervise a pre-school setting and support children's care, learning and development needs.

What age range is covered?

Birth to 5 years.

How is it assessed?

One externally marked assignment and three internally marked assignments.

Are practical placements required?

Learners will need to complete 360 hours working under supervision. Some assessment centres may choose to include a further 30 hours on top of this.

How long does the qualification take to complete?

600 hours. This includes 240 hours in supervised study, plus the practical placement hours.

Pre-school Supervisor.
Playgroup Supervisor.
Nursery Practitioner.
