CWDC supports continuation of CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education for September - December 2010 registrations CWDC and CACHE have announced the continuation of the CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the September 2010 cohort of 16-19 year old college based learners. The CACHE Level 3 Diploma will continue to carry occupational competence and UCAS points, and will also continue to be recommended by CWDC for funding by the LSC and the other funding authorities until December 2010. Assessment strategy for new Level 3 Diploma- (more details coming soon) Following CWDC’s recent release of draft unit titles for the new Level 3 Diploma, a draft assessment strategy has recently been circulated among awarding organisations for feedback. CACHE will be attending a meeting to discuss and finalise the assessment strategy, on Wednesday 8th December. The rules of combination will also be discussed at this meeting, with details included in the next QCF newsletter.

Existing CACHE qualifications on the Learning Aims Database (LAD) All existing CACHE qualifications remain on the Learning Aims Database, which shows funding to be available until December 2010. However, CACHE would like to confirm that as soon as QCF equivalent qualifications become available, funding is ‘switched off’ for equivalent NQF quals from all awarding organisations. The LAD will not reflect this until QCF qualifications are fully accredited. We appreciate this could have been misleading for Centres, as it may have suggested that all CACHE qualifications have been extended until December 2010. However, we can confirm that CWDC have supported the continuation of funding for the CACHE Level 3 Diploma only until December 2010.
