Where a particular qualification is required to guarantee a certain level of competence or expertise, it is important to check that a potential employee has achieved the qualification that they are presenting to you.
By requesting a Proof of Qualification
we can confirm whether the certificates and claims of achievement of the applicant are genuine, which will assist you in making an informed decision.
The fee for this service is £35.

Proof of Identity
Ask to see originals of two of the following:
• Driving License
• Birth Certificate
Ask for at least two, one of which should be the previous or present employer.
Ask for a full history, and probe any gaps. Look for evasive answers that may indicate a criminal record, or a medical condition that makes them unsuitable for supervising children.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
Potential employers may request a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, but this is not a CACHE requirement. The level of this disclosure is determined by the amount of contact that the candidate will have with children in the job.
The registered provider is responsible for having suitable vetting processes in place to safeguard children in their care.
