Apprenticeships for CACHE Centres
Apprenticeships are high on the agenda for many employers with good reason; for learners they offer a recognised and established way to obtain first-hand knowledge of a particular job role, resulting in enhanced employability. Government funding for apprenticeships has also increased, with 16-18 year-old learners being the main priority.
Our extensive knowledge of funding coupled with our status as the only specialist awarding body for the care, health and education sector has enabled us to now offer childcare, health and social care, supporting teaching and learning and playwork apprenticeship packages to our Centres in England.
Ease of Delivery
To help you deliver our apprenticeship qualifications we provide you with access to a National Development Manager and a dedicated Regional Development Executive. Furthermore we will keep you up to date by email on funding news - ensuring you get the information when you need it.
Mapping Support
To aid holistic delivery, we also provide you with easy and customisable mapping documents for all our Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships. These allow you to track the progress of your learners’ achievement and to collect the evidence you need when you apply for their apprenticeship certificates.
They include mapping for the Employment Responsibilities and Rights, Employment Awareness, PLTS and Key Skills* to the mandatory units of the apprenticeship qualifications. To download free copies, please visit our ‘Apprenticeship’ section on cachezone.
Framework Requirements
As the requirements for completing an apprenticeship vary depending on the apprenticeship undertaken, we strongly advise you to consult the relevant framework document before commencing delivery.
Full details of the requirements for each framework, sector-specific information and details of Key Skills alternatives, can be found by downloading the relevant framework document from the Apprenticeship Frameworks Online website at:

Funding Availability
Funding Rates for Apprenticeships can be found on the Frameworks tab of the Learning Aim Reference Application, where the amount of funding available for each framework is listed. Funding information and guidance regarding CACHE Apprenticeships is available on cachezone, whilst the Skills Funding Agency’s dedicated Apprenticeships page highlights changes and important updates to Apprenticeship funding policy that may affect CACHE providers.

Key and Functional Skills Update
Key Skills ceased being open for registrations on September 30th 2012 and from this date are no longer accepted in Apprenticeship Frameworks. Learners who are registered on Key Skills prior to this date will be able to claim certification until 30th September 2013; as long as Key Skills are certificated prior to this date they will be accepted when claiming a full Apprenticeship certificate, even if the Apprenticeship finishes after this date.
Equivalent GCSEs, A Levels and AS Levels in English, Mathematics and ICT have also been identified as acceptable alternatives to Key and Functional Skills; these are listed in the Transferrable Skills section of the relevant Apprenticeship Framework document. Only qualifications listed in the Transferrable Skills section of the framework document will be accepted as evidence that the Transferrable Skill has been achieved, so if you have registered a learner on a SASE-compliant Apprenticeship since April 6th 2011 please ensure that you check the relevant Apprenticeship Framework document at:
