Early Years Specialist Provision – Bath and North East Somerset Council

Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking to commission an Early Years Specialist Provision Service for disabled children aged 2 to 5 years.


The aims of the service are as follows:


 - to provide access to high quality Specialist EYFS Education Nursery Provision for children aged 2 to 5 years with SEND and/or complex health needs to ensure they have equal access to use their Early Years Entitlement (*as defined in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years 2014)

 - to support the holistic development of children to improve opportunities for achievement, learning and play

 - to empower children and families to engage in services and activities in their local community and to be able to play and learn alongside their peers

 - to work with a range of partners to ensure a consistent approach to individual children’s support packages and remove barriers to inclusion

 - to share expertise and knowledge to ensure that children have a positive start to education

 - to ensure plans are in place for continued access to learning and development on transition between settings and onto statutory school

 - to enable parents and carers to support their children's holistic development

 - to facilitate parent and carers access to appropriate and timely information.
