Who is the qualification aimed at?


Managers or lead/senior practitioners, peripatetic advisors and support workers in settings or services whose main purpose is Children's Care Learning and Development.


What are the entry requirements?


Learners have to be at least 18 years old and have significant experience in an Early Years setting or hold a relevant Level 3 qualification.



What does the qualification cover?


Practical, work-related tasks based on National Occupational Standards in Children's Care, Learning and Development at Level 4, which are designed to demonstrate management competencies.


What age range is covered?


Birth to 16 years of age.


How is it Assessed?


Direct observation within the workplace combined with a portfolio of additional evidence such as, assignments, professional discussions, and witness testimonies.


Are practical placements required?


Learners must already be managing a range of settings or working as an advanced practitioner when undertaking this qualification.


How long will it take to complete?


There are no set number of hours as it depends on the learner's ability to gather and log the required evidence.
